I do not cook.
But for some reason, I find baking to be v relaxing and a great way to decompress.
Growing up, I would make toffee with Carms for the holidays and would distribute to all of her friends.
As an “adult” I decided that my gift to friends and fam during Christmas would be the llama cookies.
Here’s my recipe for you to use, and tips on how to make these adorable Fa La La Llama cookies.
What You’ll Need:
All purpose flour |
Llama cookie cutter |
Baking powder |
Powdered sugar |
Salt |
White sprinkles |
Unsalted butter |
Brown sprinkles |
Sugar |
Black Frosting gel |
Egg |
Sour tape candy |
Milk |
Vanilla extract |
Make the dough, and place in the fridge for at least two hours. Click here for the full sugar cookie recipe.
To make the scarves, take the candy tape (which I purchased from Smart and Final) and separate the pink from the red. You can do this either by hand, or with a pizza cutter.
If you are OCD like me and prefer the scarves to be vibrant red as opposed to the snow crusted (as seen above), you’ll take the sour tape candy and wet under the sink.
Dry off, and wrap around the neck.
Lastly, to give your llama some character, use the black gel pen to the create eyes.
I give these to friends in a cellophane bag with a yarn ribbon and a holiday tag.
Enjoy, and Merry Christmas.
